Things You'll Need:
Towel Comfortable workout clothes

Step
1
Adjust any height settings on the machine to accommodate your height.
Set the machine to its lowest resistance, weight or speed as is applicable. Wipe the machine's surface with your towel.
Step
2
Mount the machine as directed by any diagrams. Do not use a machine that is missing its instructional decals as this can be an indicator that the machine is not well-maintained. Do not use a machine that appears to be in a poor state of repair.
Step
3
Follow the machine's range of motion with controlled movements. Adjust the resistance to your preference when you feel that you understand the operation of the machine.
Step
4
Use smooth, controlled movements to work out on the machine. Do not jerk or heave the weights, as you could injure yourself or damage the machine. Do not force the machine past its range of motion. Switch to free weights if you do not feel that the machine's range of motion is allowing you to work out effectively or causing any physical discomfort.
Step
5
Check periodically to ensure that you are using correct posture and technique during your workout to avoid developing a flawed and potentially dangerous technique.
Step
6
Wipe the machine down with your towel when you have completed your workout.
